// CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati men's and women's cross country teams are heading off to Tallahassee, Florida to compete in the FSU Invite on Friday, October 15th. The meet is located at Apalachee Regional Park, which will later be the site of the NCAA championship race, giving the Bearcats a chance to be better prepared for the rest of the season.
MEET SCHEDULE
Racing will begin at the FSU Invite at 8:00 A.M. with the Men's Garnet 8k. The Cincinnati men's team will be competing in the Garnet 8k and the women's team will be competing in the Open 6k (bolded below). The meet will take place as follows:
8:00 a.m. – Men's 8k Garnet Race
8:35 a.m. – Women's 6k Garnet Race
9:10 a.m. – Men's 8k Open Race
9:45 a.m. – Women's 6k Open Race
The men's teams will run up to 10 athletes in the Garnet race and the women's team will run up to 8 athletes in the open.
HOW TO WATCH
Tickets are required to enter the race site in Apalachee Regional Park. They can be purchased HERE. There is no livestream of the race, but live results will be available HERE.
WHERE WE LEFT OFF
UC last competed at the Notre Dame Invite, where both teams ran competitively against some of their toughest competition yet. Alec Sandusky brought home his second first-place title by winning the Men's Gold Division 5-mile with a time of 24:17.2. Ellie Leather was the top finisher for the women's team in the Gold Division 5k with a time of 17:24.9, which earned her 4th place.
Also finishing in the top 20 at Notre Dame were Tyler Wirth, 15th, and Toni Baños, 20th, on the men's side. Maddie Walker finished 16th in the women's race.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Both teams will be racing almost a full squad once again in Tallahassee and hope to gain experience racing on the course that will host NCAA championships at the end of the season.
There will be 39 men's teams competing in the Garnet 8k and 26 women's teams competing in the Open 6k.
