UCATS, the fundraising arm of Cincinnati Athletics, has announced a record membership enrollment this fall. With nearly 5,700 donors, the department has surpassed the previous high mark set in 2010.
"We are incredibly proud of this milestone and the support our Bearcats community has shown our student-athletes and coaches in their pursuit of next level success," said Brad Okel, UCATS executive director.
With the coming move to the Big 12 Conference and the success of Football, UCATS has built significant fundraising momentum, something Okel sees as a necessity provide student-athletes with the resources they need to compete at the next level. But the unit still has its sights set on larger goals.
"As we look toward being Day 1 Ready, our goal will be to increase the overall number of donors with a focus on growing the percentage of individuals who are making contributions beyond their priority seating requirements––a number we would love to see exceed 50%."
With less than three months remaining in 2021, UCATS hopes to surpass 6,000 donors by year's end.

About UCATSBeginning in 1979, UCATS, an acronym representing University of Cincinnati Athletic Teams Scholarships, was created to serve as the framework for supporting efforts of Bearcats student-athletes.
UCATS falls under the greater umbrella of the University of Cincinnati Foundation, which strives to inspire a community of UC and UC Health supporters through the power of philanthropy. With that in mind, UCATS represents the principal fundraising arm of the University of Cincinnati Athletic Department.
Purpose-driven and relationship-centered, UCATS provides a way for individuals and corporate entities to help talented young people receive a quality education, while ensuring UC's tradition of academic and athletic excellence.
