TicketsRALEIGH, N.C. -- The final round, plus a continuation of the second, was not enough for the Cincinnati men's golf team to improve its standing, ultimately finishing 11th at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate.
Sam Jean finished as the team's top performer for the third time out of four tournaments, finishing in the top-20 for each of them. He also had his fifth sub-70 round of the season. Joey McCarthy followed by finishing in a tie for 29th with a 2-over 218.
"We had a tough week all the way around," head coach Doug Martin said. "We didn't do the things necessary to play well. Nos. 1-5 we were not on our game and couldn't find any momentum for the two days. We have a couple of weeks to get things right before we hit the road again."
The Bearcats were affected by weather-shortened days for the second-straight tournament as well. Next up for them is the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational in South Alabama.
