HOLLISTER, Mo. -- Erin Evans and Paighton Masterson each carded 2-over 74s to help Cincinnati in the first round of the Ozarks National Invitational, where they are eighth out of 15 teams.
"The ladies almost put a complete round together today," head coach Janet Carl said. "There were lots of solid, clean golf being played once they got past the first few holes. It was a solid team effort from all players. Tomorrow for us to climb the board, we need to clean up some par-fives and par-two scoring. Rounds of the day go to Erin and Paighton with 74s."
Evans' 74 marked a career-low and featured a team-high five birdies. The Bearcats as a team posted their best round of the young season with a 300, just four strokes from the top-five in the field. They will strive to continue their second-round successes so far, improving bye 15, four and 12 strokes in those stages over the first three events.
Katie Hallinan followed with a 75 for 29th, with Sadie Pan and Julia Rabadam up next. The second round is slated for a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
