CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati volleyball senior Maria Mallon earned her second straight weekly honor roll recognition for her weekend performance, the American Athletic Conference announced on Monday afternoon.

CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati volleyball senior Maria Mallon earned her second straight weekly honor roll recognition for her weekend performance, the American Athletic Conference announced on Monday afternoon.

She recorded 16 kills 16 kills and 16 digs against Houston (Oct. 22) and hit .346 with 11 kills and 12 digs in a sweep of Tulane (Oct. 24), recording back to back double-doubles for the second straight weekend. She ranked sixth in The American with 4.00 digs per set and eighth with 4.21 points per set for Cincinnati in a 1-1 weekend.

This is the fourth time Mallon has made the AAC weekly awards. She first earned Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 6, followed by Offensive Player of the Week Sept. 20, and then a spot on the honor roll Oct. 18.

The senior has been on a roll lately placing herself in the Bearcats record books. She recorded her 1,000 kill of her career and is 28 digs away from 1,000, which will make her the ninth player in UC Volleyball history to join the 1,000 kills / 1,000 digs club. She also served her way into the top-10 all-time in the rally scoring era in serving aces, currenly at #9 with 103.
