// WHERE WE LEFT OFF
UC last competed at the FSU Invite against their toughest competition yet. Both teams fared well, with plenty of PRs and high placing.
All 8 of the men's athletes in the Garnet 8k in Tallahassee ran 8k personal records, putting them in a great place to be even faster for the postseason. Alec Sandusky led the Cincinnati men's team with a time of 23:44.7. He was followed by Tyler Wirth in 24:22.0 and Toni Baños in 24:31.5.
Ellie Leather led the women's squad with a 4th place finish and a 6k PR in 20:57.4.
She was followed by Maddie Walker in 21:54.1 and Sam Mikula, also running a PR, with 22:31.4.
The last AAC Championship was held in February 2021, where the men's squad placed 2nd and the women's placed 3rd. Tulsa won both team championships. The individual champions in both the men's and women's raaces will not be returning to defend their AAC title this year.
Ellie Leather and Maddie Walker are projected to be top finishers at the meet after Leather's 3rd place finish at last year's AAC Championship and Walker's 15th. Alec Sandusky finished 5th at the last championship with Toni Baños in 13th and Tyler Wirth in 15th, also expected to finish high this week.
