CINCINNATI -- The University of Cincinnati men's golf team has its fifth and final fall tournament this weekend at the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational in Loxley, Ala.
The two-day event begins Saturday at the Steelwood Country Club, a par-72, 7,096-yard course.
Participating teams include No. 32 UAB, Kansas State, Kennesaw State, Kentucky, Louisiana Tech, Memphis, Mississippi State, No. 41 Missouri, North Alabama, Rice, Rutgers, South Alabama (host) and Wisconsin.
Its last time out, UC finished 11th at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate in Raleigh, N.C. It did card a 285 in the second round, its third-lowest of the season, amid a second-straight tournament with weather-shortened days.
The Bearcats will send out the same five as previous events: Clay Amlung, Ty Gingerich, Sam Jean, Mason Lenhart and Joey McCarthy. Jean boasts a 136 ranking in Golfweek with McCarthy following at 290.
Jean leads the way with a 71.17 stroke average, which includes five sub-70 rounds and three top-20 finishes over four events. Lenhart's 221 in the last tournament marked his lowest score and was just five-over par.
