CINCINNATI -- The University of Cincinnati women's golf team is sending two teams to compete in this week's Courtney Cole Invitational, which runs Monday-Tuesday in Bloomington, Ind.
The field consists of just Ball State, Indiana, Indianapolis and Loyola Chicago. all from the par-72, 6,178-yard Pfau Course on the IU campus. Live scoring is available via Golfstat.com.
The first squad features Katie Hallinan, Sadie Pan, Paighton Masterson, Carmela Simon Prieto and Erin Evans. The second includes Natalia Sompolvorachai, Makenna Jones, Julia Rabadam, Alexis Daniel and Olivia McCrystal. Autumn King will also compete individually.
UC's only tournament this season was the Pirate Collegiate Classic, which included everyone in the first group except for Sompolvorachai instead of Evans. The rest of the group features four freshmen seeing their debut, while King is making hers as well.
The Bearcats' last venture was a sixth-place finish in Greenville, N.C., where Hallinan led the squad with a 6-over 222, which was good for a fifth-place finish. It marked her third, top-10 finish in just seven tournaments at UC. Cincinnati also played in four two-day tournaments last season, with its best finish coming at the EKU Classic (fourth), where Hallinan finished second.
