TicketsCINCINNATI -- The University of Cincinnati women's golf team claimed two holes on the first day of the Crosstown Shootout, held at Maketewah Country Club.
"Today was a tough day for the Bearcats," head coach Janet Carl said. "When you're playing a golf course and you never had a chance for a practice round, it makes it difficult to be competitive. Our players did a decent job despite that setback. We have challenged the players to come out prepared to lay it all on the line tomorrow.
"At the end of the day, Xavier is ahead, 7-2. It. will take 9 1/2 matches to win the Crosstown Shootout."
Maketewah is also the Musketeers' home course. The action continues Sunday at Losantiville Country Club, beginning at 11 a.m. All fans are welcome.
