LOXLEY, Ala. -- Sam Jean finished eighth, marking his third top-10 finish out of five fall tournaments, and the Cincinnati men's golf team finished eighth at the Steelwood Collegiate Invite to conclude its fall season.

Jean this year also finished fifth in the Hoosier Collegiate Invite and won the Badger Invitational en route to AAC September Golfer of the Month honors. Joey McCarthy's 68 to close up shop, an eight-stroke improvement from his second round as well, marked a season-low and one off a personal-best.

"Solid weeks for both Sam and Mason," head coach Doug Martin said. "Three scores under par today to finish the fall season gives us some nice momentum going into the offseason. Overall, this team was in position to do some great things this fall. We need to have a great offseason both on and off the course to help us prepare for our postseason run. Our schedule is very difficult this spring, so we must be prepared."

Mason Lenhart's strong finish, a 1-under 71, allowed him to earn a career-best 16th-place finish, his best since posting the same in the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate as a freshman in 2018-19.

All in all, four of the five Bearcats carded under-par rounds. No. 49 Missouri won the team title with a 17-under 847.

Cincinnati returns to action this spring at the Coral Creek Club Invitational in Placida, Fla., from Feb. 28-March 1.
