Women's Golf Finishes First Day in Indiana

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Cincinnati Women's Golf completed the first round of its 11-strong tournament at Indiana, with Katie Hallinan tying for third to lead the pack.

"We had our share of good and bad," head coach Janet Carl said. "This is such a young squad learning how to play at this level. Skill-wise, they hit good shots today. Decision-wise, we need to make smarter ones. Reading putts really hurt us as a group. We anticipate tomorrow with improved decision making we can make a move and put a good round together. Katie is in position to play for an individual win. I also want to mention that we had several players who posted good rounds for their first events as Bearcats."

Five of the team's 11 participants are making their collegiate debuts, including Makenna Jones and Julia Rabadam who are tied for eighth. Hallinan is four strokes off the lead.
