Volleyball Set to Host UCF and USF This Weekend

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati volleyball team will return to Fifth Third Arena this weekend where it will host both UCF and USF. The Bearcats will face UCF on Friday at 6:30 p.m., then turn around and match up against USF on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati volleyball team returns to Fifth Third Arena this weekend where it will host both the UCF Knights and the USF Bulls. The Bearcats will face UCF on Friday at 6:30 p.m., then turn around and match up against USF on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

The Bearcats are 13-7 on the year and 8-4 in conference play. They are coming off a 3-2 win over Memphis and look to get one back against UCF after falling to the Knights earlier in the season.
 
SCOUTING THE BEARCATS
  • In their last 10 matches, the Bearcats have a record of 7-3.
  • UC remains in fourth place in the American Athletic Conference (AAC) standings.
  • Maria Mallon continued her great play this weekend and added to her career resume by reaching 1,000 digs to go with over 1,000 kills on her career. She now has 287 kills, 331.5 points, and 296 digs on the year. 
  • Abby Walker earned her second AAC Honor Roll recognition for her performance over the weekend, which included 32 kills between the two matches.
  • Kailea Carrier ranks fourth on the Bearcats with 125 kills and first with 49 blocks.

  • UCF is 18-6 (11-1 AAC) on the year and is coming off two wins this past weekend against Tulsa and Wichita State.
  • UCF leads the all-time series against UC 8-12. UC lost its last matchup and looks to get a bounce back win against the Knights.
  • McKenna Melville leads UCF with 495 points and 437 kills. 
  • Nerissa Moravec is the team-leader with 102 blocks, averaging 1.32 per set. 
  • Amber Olsen paces the Knights with 830 total assists, averaging 9.43 per set.

  • USF is 6-17 (0-12 AAC) on the year, coming off two loses to Wichita State and Tulsa.
  • The Bearcats lead the all-time series against the Bulls 26-13 and have won seven games in a row. 
  • Marta Cvitkovic leads the team with 330.5 points and 275 kills. 
  • Kelsey O'loughlin is first on the team in assists with 459. 
  • Freshman Amiree Hendricks-Walker has 78 blocks, which leads the team.
