Bearcats Hit the Road Once Again, Face Tulane and Houston

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati volleyball team is on the road again this weekend to take on Tulane and Houston. The Bearcats will face Tulane on Friday at 7:00 p.m., then end their weekend against Houston on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati volleyball team is on the road again this weekend to take on Tulane and Houston. The Bearcats will face Tulane on Friday at 7:00 p.m., then end their weekend against Houston on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.ET.

The Bearcats are 14-8 on the year and 9-5 in conference play. They are coming off a 3-1 victory over USF this past Sunday and a loss to UCF in a very tight contest. 
 
SCOUTING THE BEARCATS
  • In their last 10 matches, the Bearcats have a record of 6-4.
  • UC remains in fourth place in the American Athletic Conference (AAC) standings.
  • Maria Mallon continues to bolster the team offensively, leading the Bearcats in points (361.5) and kills (312).
  • Abby Walker is second on the team in both those categories, tallying 295 points and 233 kills this season. 
  • Emme Madden is sixth in the AAC with 9.68 assists per set. 
  • Cincinnati ranks near the top of the AAC in kills per set (13.5) and assists per set (12.7).
 
GAMES THIS WEEKEND

  • Tulane is 15-11 (8-6 AAC) on the year and is coming off a sweep of Tulsa before getting swept by Wichita State. 
  • UC leads the all-time series against Tulane 23-4. UC swept the Green Wave on Oct. 24 this season and has won two in a row.
  • Lexie Douglas leads Tulane with 279 kills. 
  • Anna Davis and Kayla Dinkins lead the Green Wave with 60 blocks each. 
  • Tulane is second in the AAC with a .234 hitting percentage on the year.

  • Houston is 21-5 (11-3 AAC) on the year. They beat Wichita State and Tulsa this past weekend. 
  • The Bearcats lead the all-time series against the Cougars 10-4 and have won eight of the last nine games. 
  • Abbie Jackson ranks among the top of the AAC with 4.01 kills per set. 
  • Annie Cook leads the Cougars in assists with 966. 
  • Rachel Tullos has 127 blocks on the season and averages 1.25 per set.
