// WHERE WE LEFT OFF
UC last raced at the AAC Championship meet where the women's team recorded their highest-ever team placing in 2nd and the men's team ran great races to take 3rd.

Alec Sandusky led the men's pack with an individual 3rd place finish in the men's 8k.  Sandusky is the only returning runner to have qualified and ran at the previous NCAA Cross Country Championship meet in February 2021, placing 69th.  Following Sandusky at the AAC Championship meet was Tyler Wirth, coming in 8th.

The women's squad finished with three all-conference performers, led by Maddie Walker in 5th place.  Ellie Leather finished 10th followed by Carmela Henning in 12th to help the Bearcats earn their second-place team finish.

// WHAT TO EXPECT
The women's team will be competing against 31 other teams and the men's team will be competing against 29.

The 7 men competing for UC are Toni Baños, Jonathan Harley, Julius Hild, Matt Hoak, Alec Sandusky, Christian Stevens, and Tyler Wirth.

The 7 women competing for UC are Maggie Breitenstein, Carmela Henning, Lauren Kemper, Ellie Leather, Sam Mikula, Jodie Pierce, and Maddie Walker.

The top 2 teams in each race receive an automatic bid to qualify for the NCAA championship meet.  The top 4 individuals in each race who are not already on a qualifying team also receive automatic individual spot in the meet if they are in the top 25.  The NCAA will then select 13 teams and 2 individuals at large from all remaining teams in the nation who did not earn a top 2 spot in their region on November 13th at 5 p.m. EST.
