THE SERIES
The Bearcats and the Knights have only met twice before and Cincinnati won both contests. In 1978, UC won 69-64 and in 1980 they won 55-50.
SCOUTING THE BEARCATS
UC's 2021-22 roster includes seven returning players and eight new faces. 2021 AAC All-Freshman Team member Jillian Hayes returns alongside seniors Arame Niang and Nesma Khalifa and juniors Jada Scott, Jadyn Scott, Sofia Gritzali, and Caitlyn Wilson.
The team opened up 2021-22 season with a 73-60 win over Alabama A&M Wedndsday night in Fifth Third Arena. The Bearcats shot 42.4% from the field and 25% from three-point land. Cincinnati out-rebounded Alabama A&M 50-41 and never trailed at any point in the game. Cincinnati held their opponents to only 26.8% from the field and 35.7% from three-point range.
Cincinnati held Alabama A&M scored only six points in the first quarter, lowest in a quarter since they allowed four to UCF on February 15th, 2020. Sophomore Jillian Hayes had 17 points, nine rebounds, five assists, four blocks, and two steals.
The Bearcats finished the 2020-21 season 8-16 and look to emulate the back-to-back 20-win seasons from 2018-2020. Head coach Michelle Clark-Heard heads into her fourth season with the Bearcats.SCOUTING THE KNIGHTS
This will be the first game for Bellarmine University for the 2021-22 season.

Deel was second on the team last season in rebounding (4.0) and third in scoring with 9.0 points. Coatney, who transferred to the team last season, led the team in rebounds (5.7) and field goal percentage (47.4%), and fourth in scoring with 8.3 points. Scott led the team in assists last season (2.5) and averaged 5.6 points per game.
Bellarmine has two new transfers this season, with Jaela Johnson and Mackenzie Keelin. Johnson, RS junior from Toledo, and Keelin, sophomore from Tennessee Tech. Johnson played in 23 games last season for Toledo, and Keelin played in 5 games for last season for Tennessee Tech.
