Volleyball is Back Home For Two Games Against Wichita State and Tulsa

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati volleyball team will take the court twice at home this weekend. The Bearcats will face Wichita State on Friday at 6:30 p.m., then finish their weekend against Tulsa on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET.

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati volleyball team will take the court twice at home this weekend. The Bearcats will face Wichita State on Friday at 6:30 p.m., then finish their weekend against Tulsa on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET.

The Bearcats are 15-9 on the year and 10-6 in conference play. They are coming off a 3-1 victory over Tulane this past Friday and a loss to Houston on Sunday. 
 
SCOUTING THE BEARCATS
  • The Bearcats are 6-2 in home matches this season. 
  • UC remains in fourth place in the American Athletic Conference (AAC) standings.
  • Maria Mallon ranks fifth in the conference in kills per set with 3.54. She leads the team in points (395) and kills (343). 
  • Abby Walker is second on the team in both those categories, tallying 307.5 points and 243 kills this season. 
  • Madison Waters was named to the AAC Honor Roll for her performance this past weekend. She recorded 22 kills in two games this weekend.
  • Cincinnati ranks second in the AAC in kills per set (13.5) and assists per set (12.7).

  • Wichita State is 17-8 (11-5 AAC) on the year and is coming off two wins against Tulsa and Temple this past weekend.
  • UC leads the all-time series against Wichita State 4-3. The Shockers took the ast matchup on Oct. 17, 2-3.
  • Brylee Kelly leads Wichita State with 295 kill and is sixth in the AAC in kills per set. 
  • Kayce Litzau ranks second in the conference with 10.07 assists per set. 
  • Morgan Stout leads the Shockers with 74 blocks.

  • Tulsa is 13-12 (8-8 AAC) on the year. They lost to Wichita State and beat Temple last weekend.
  • The Bearcats lead the all-time series against the Golden Hurricane 10-3 and have won the past six matches, including a 3-1 win on Oct. 15. 
  • Kayley Cassaday ranks fourth in the league with 3.8 kills per set. 
  • Marta Pecalli's 426 digs and 4.53 digs per set ranks third in the AAC.
  • Tulsa's 18.04 digs per set as a team ranks at the top of the league.
