Caitlyn Wilson Recorded Nine Three-Point Shots in Exhibition Win Over Findlay

CINCINNATI — The University of Cincinnati Bearcats played host to the University of Findlay Oilers in an exhibition at Fifth Third Arena on Wednesday, November 3rd.

CINCINNATI — The University of Cincinnati Bearcats played host to the University of Findlay Oilers in an exhibition at Fifth Third Arena on Wednesday, November 3rd.

The University of Cincinnati welcomed fans back to Fifth Third Arena for the first time since the 2019 season.

Cincinnati shot 40.6% from the floor and 39% from three-point range. Findlay and Cincinnati each grabbed 41 rebounds. The Bearcats had 36 points off turnovers and had 20 assists as a team.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The game started as well as UC could have hoped with the team shooting tremendously well from the field, 55.6% from three-point territory and 64.7% overall.  The Bearcats ended the first quarter on a 8-0 run.

The Bearcats went into halftime with a 51-27 lead thanks to Caitlyn Wilson's 18 and Jadyn Scott's 11 points. Wilson added three more three-pointers in the quarter and ended the half missing just one out of seven attempts. Jillian Hayes added two more rebounds and pushed her first half total to seven.

Caitlyn Wilson led all Bearcats with nine points and recorded two rebounds in the second half. Emerita Mashaire contributed three points, one rebound, one assist, and one steal in the half.

The Bearcats were able to maintain their dominance from the first half and cruised to a 77-60 victory.

NOTABLES

  • Caitlyn Wilson led all scorers with 27 points. Wilson shot 9-for-13 from 3-point range and made the most three-pointers in a game since the 2012-2013 season.
  • Jillian Hayes recorded a team best 10 rebounds, a team best five steals, and tied Akira Levy with a team-high five assists.
  • Akira Levy was a team best +26 in 24 minutes played.
  • Jadyn Scott recorded  13 points and five rebounds in 17 minutes played.
  • The Bearcats were strong on defensive with five blocks and 13 steals.
  • The Bearcats, including the starters, had all 12 bench players register minutes.
