CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team welcomes the North Carolina A&T Aggies on Sunday, December 19th for a 2 p.m. matchup.

THE SERIES
This is the first time both programs are meeting on the court against each other.

SCOUTING THE BEARCATS 
The Bearcats improved to 6-4 on the season following a 63-52 road win over Chattanooga Wednesday night. In the game, the team shot 43.1% from field goal range and 77.8% from the free throw line, with 29 points coming off the bench. Freshman Braylyn Milton led the team with 18 points, going 6-for-10 from field goal range in 25 minutes of play. Two other Bearcats scored in double figures -  Akira Levy (14) and Caitlyn Wilson (10) and Malea Williams  played a season high 24 points and recorded a season high 10 rebounds in the game.

Junior point guard Akira Levy is the team leader in scoring, averaging 13.9 points per game. Levy leads the AAC and is 25th in the NCAA in steals with 28 and is second in the AAC and 19th in the NCAA in assists with 56.

SCOUTING THE AGGIES
North Carolina A&T (3-6) comes into the game on a three-game win streak. The Aggies started the year off with six straight road games, going 0-6, before beating South Carolina State (86-46), North Carolina Central (60-55) and ECU (75-59) at home. 

Against ECU, guard Shareka McNeill scored  25 points, 10 field goals, and five made 3-pointers in the game - all a career-high at A&T. Guard Chanin Scott recorded an A&T career-high seven steals and tied a career-high with 12 rebounds.

Head coach Tarrell Robinson is in his 11th season as the head coach of the Aggies. During his tenure the team has made six postseason appearances – three NCAA tournaments (2016, 2018, 2021) and three WNIT's (2013, 2014, 2019). Robinson has five 20-win seasons as the Aggies headman, and his teams have finished lower than third place only twice during his tenure.

This season is the 50th anniversary of the Women's Basketball program. Then known as the Lady Bearcats, the team finished it's first season in 1971 with a 9-6 record. The Bearcats have been led by Mary Jo Huismann, former men's basketball player Tom Thacker (1974-1978, 55-43), Ceal Barry (1979-1981, 83-42), Sandy Smith (1983-1986, 49-37), Laurie Pirtle (1986-2007, most wins in program history with 310), and Jamelle Elliott (2009-2017, 113-162).
