Cincinnati rode season-high 24 and 22-point performances by David DeJulius and Jeremiah Davenport, respectively, in a 71-57 Saturday win over Ashland that was scheduled 20 hours prior after Texas Southern experienced COVID issues.
Davenport is averaging 15.8 ppg over the last four after scoring six combined in two close losses prior. His six threes on 11 tries were a career-high and UC's most since Jaevin Cumberland on Nov. 24, 2019 against Bowling Green. DeJulius surpassed 20 points for the third time this season (Alabama A&M, Arkansas). He has improved in all shooting and scoring facets from last season as well.
There has been some noteworthy history in recent years for the Bearcats ahead of the holidays. From 2017-19, all AAC championship seasons, the Bearcats produced double-digit routs over UCLA (twice) and No. 21 Tennessee in the week prior to Christmas. Should Cincinnati emerge victorious Tuesday, its 10 non-conference wins will be its most since starting 11-2 in 2019-20.
UC ranks ninth in field-goal percentage (36.5). 19th in turnovers per game (10.2) and 20th in three-point defense (26.3 percent). Also on the offensive end, Cincinnati leads the AAC with 288 three-point attempts.
SERIES HISTORY
Cincinnati has won both meetings against Tennessee Tech, the last in 2005 as a campus-precursor to the Las Vegas Holiday Classic.

Cincinnati has won both meetings against Tennessee Tech, the last in 2005 as a campus-precursor to the Las Vegas Holiday Classic.
In that 105-62 win, Eric Hicks led five Bearcats in double-figures with 19 points on 8-for-11 shooting. James White scored 15 of his 19 points in the second half to go with a season-high eight rebounds.
The most notable element of Tuesday's game is the return of four-year Cincinnati letterwinner Mamoudou Diarra. The UC grad was named to the athletic department's honor roll four times and scored a season-high 10 points in the AAC title game to finish his time.
