CINCINNATI -- Former University of Cincinnati men's basketball standouts Tre Scott and Lance Stephenson signed 10-day NBA contracts Wednesday with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Atlanta Hawks, respectively.

Scott (2015-20) had signed a preseason contract with the Cavaliers but was playing exclusively with the G-League's Cleveland Charge, averaging 14.1 ppg. He also spent time with the Salt Lake City Stars and Puerto Rico's Baloncesto Superior Nacional league.

Scott finished his career as the AAC's Defensive Player of the Year, Most Improved Player and Sportsmanship Award winner, as well as a Senior CLASS candidate. He also averaged 11.4 points and 10.5 rebounds per game, the first Bearcat since Dwight Jones in 1982-83 to reach double-figures in both. His 22-point, 21-rebound performance in a double-overtime tilt with UCF was the first 20-20 game since Kenyon Martin in 1998. The Georgia native has twin sisters, Jada and Jadyn, who are juniors on UC's women's team.

Stephenson made a significant impact on the NBA over his nine-year career (2010-19), primarily with the Indiana Pacers. He then starred a season with China's Liaoning Flying Leopards and the G-League's Grand Rapids Gold this season. The 2010 BIG EAST Rookie of the Year was also a McDonald's All-American in high school. His lone season with the Bearcats saw him average 12.3 ppg, including team-highs of 15 and 22 points early in his career against Xavier and Gonzaga (EA Sports Maui Invitational Championship Game), respectively.

Cincinnati (10-3) opens AAC play Tuesday night at No. 13 Houston. Tip-off is at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
