CINCINNATI – Four University of Cincinnati football players were selected in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Bearcats most selections since 2012.
OL James Hudson was off the board first, going to Cleveland with pick 110 (Story). S Darrick Forrest followed at pick 163 and was taken by Washington (Story). S James Wiggins and RB Gerrid Doaks were selected back-to-back at pick 243 and 244 by Arizona and Miami, respectively. (Wiggins Story; Doaks Story)
The Bearcats were among an American Athletic Conference record 19 players drafted this year. The 36 players taken in the last two drafts are the most for The American in a two-year stretch in the league's eight-year history.
Cincinnati has had at least one player picked in each of the last six NFL Drafts.
The four draft choices were UC's most since 2012 (4) and sit behind the six 2009 selections and five 1998 picks.
Overall, 116 UC players have been selected all time with 37 going since 2001.
