THE RUNDOWN
Cincinnati rallied from an eight-point, second-half deficit to win late at Wichita State, 61-57. The Bearcats' second-half shooting was up from 32.3 to 46.2 percent while holding the Shockers to 31.3 from 44.4. UC also went 10-for-26 from deep, the most makes Wichita State has allowed this season and the third time in four games UC hit 10-plus (had just two-such games all year prior). It was also the team's first win after trailing at the half.

John Newman III has scored in double-figures four-straight games after doing so once previously. Hayden Koval exploded for a season-high 13 points in 18 minutes off the bench, while his 3-for-5 showing from deep marked just the second time he has made multiple threes this year. Ody Oguama also blocked three shots, his most since the 2019-20 season while a freshman at Wake Forest (Davidson, Xavier, N.C. State). David DeJulius' game-high 18 points has him plus-3.8 ppg and 8.8 percent higher from deep this season.

Mika Adams-Woods, the nation's assist-turnover leader (5.33), has increased his scoring by 4.1 ppg since AAC play began. He is also averaging just one turnover every 40.8 minutes. UC is 15th nationally in turnovers (10.1 per game) after ranking 267th last year. Other notable rankings include being 12th in field-goal percentage defense (37.8), 34th in scoring defense (62.4, up from 226) and 47th in three-point attempts (446).

SERIES HISTORY
Cincinnati's 30-13 record against Tulsa includes a 10-2 mark in AAC play. Jeremiah Davenport averaged 15 ppg in the split meetings last year, shooting 7-for-10 from deep. No moment was bigger than his game-winning layup with 12 seconds left in the 70-69 road win on Feb. 25, all thanks to Mika Adams-Woods deflection off a Tulsa pass. The first meeting saw the Golden Hurricane out-shoot the Bearcats 56.8-34.4 percent, withstanding a rally after leading by 11 in the second half.

Tulsa, like Wichita State, was Missouri Valley Conference foe from 1957-70. Wes Miller first became acquainted with Tulsa head coach Frank Haith when Miller was 14 (Haith was an assistant at Wake Forest at the time).
