IRVING, Texas – University of Cincinnati sophomore swimmer Jessica Davis was named the America Athletic Conference's Swimming Athlete of the Week on Tuesday following three victories against Xavier last Friday.

Davis, a Plainfield, Ill., native, led the Bearcats to a 191-100 victory over the Musketeers by taking first in the 50-yard free style (23.92), 100-yard freestyle (52.66) and 200-yard freestyle (1:52.16).  She also had a split of 23.76 as the second leg of Cincinnati's 200-yard freestyle relay team that finished second.

Last season, Davis finished fourth in the 200-yard freestyle at the AAC Championships and was part of two relays that finished in the top three.

This is UC's first honor of the season and first AAC Weekly accolade since Maddie Exton collected Swimmer of the Week nearly one year ago – on Feb. 2, 2021.
