Temple leads the overall series 8-6, with the series being tied 3-3 in Fifth Third Arena.
Last time out, junior guard Caitlyn Wilson had a career-high 23 points, but it was not enough as the Bearcats fell to visiting Temple, 69-53, on Feb. 3, 2021.
SCOUTING THE BEARCATS
Cincinnati moved to 7-6 on the season following their 61-46 loss to No. 24 South Florida Wednesday night. Junior guard Caitlyn Wilson had a team-high 12 points on four three-pointers along with her four rebounds while sophomore guard Jillian Hayes shot 50% from the floor en route to her 11 points. The Bearcats held their opponents to 39.3% from the field and forced 16 turnovers to go along with their seven blocks.
Junior point guard Akira Levy ranks second in the conference and 17th in the nation in assists (73) and assists per game (5.6). She is first in the conference and 15th in the nation in steals (34), first in the AAC and 28th in the NCAA in steals per game (2.6), and is also first in the conference and 40th in the nation with free throws made (50).
Levy leads the Bearcats in points (179), points per game (13.8), field goals made (57) assists (73), steals (34), and minutes played (445), averaging 34.2 minutes a game.
Sophomore guard Jillian Hayes leads the team in rebounds (83) and blocks (19). She recorded seven steals in the game against Marquette, the most steals of any AAC player in a game so far this season.
SCOUTING THE OWLSThe Owls are coming off three straight losses against in-city rival Saint Joseph's, Northwestern, and Old Dominion. Temple has not played a basketball game since the Dec. 22 matchup against Old Dominion due to COVID-19.
Last time out, the Owls dropped a back-and-forth home contest to the Old Dominion Monarchs (10-2, 0-0 C-USA) by a score of 71-68. Mia Davis scored a game-high 25 points on 9-15 shooting, six rebounds, three assists while two

Sophomore Jasha Clinton has recently found her groove, averaging 15.0 points per game and seven assists over the past two games. Freshmen Aniya Gourdine and Kyra Wood have been key contributors for the Owls as of late. Wood tallied career-highs in both points (13) and rebounds (nine) against Northwestern. Gourdine in the last four games is averaging 9.3 points per game, 6.0 rebounds per game, and 5.3 assists.

50 SEASONS OF BEARCATS WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
This season is the 50th anniversary of the Women's Basketball program. Then known as the Lady Bearcats, the team finished it's first season in 1971 with a 9-6 record. The Bearcats have been led by Mary Jo Huismann, former men's basketball player Tom Thacker (1974-1978, 55-43), Ceal Barry (1979-1981, 83-42), Sandy Smith (1983-1986, 49-37), Laurie Pirtle (1986-2007, most wins in program history with 310), and Jamelle Elliott (2009-2017, 113-162).
