CINCINNATI – After her victory in the mile run at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational in Louisville, Ky., senior Ellie Leather has been named the American Athletic Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week.
Leather's time of 4:36.83 broke the school record and her own personal record in the mile run by five seconds and set a meet record and facility record at Louisville. Her time ranks first in the AAC by nearly 12 seconds and 13th in the entire nation.
Leather took the lead in the race after running in the pack for the first 400 meters and increased her lead throughout the duration of the mile.

NEXT UP FOR ELLIE LEATHER
Leather will travel to Winston-Salem, N.C. to compete in the Camel City Invitational. The meet is expected to have tough competition to push Leather to improve upon her record-breaking time and move up in the national rankings.
