THE SERIES
The overall series between Cincinnati and Tulane is tied 18-18, with Tulane having the advantage in New Orleans 9-7.
Last time out, the Bearcats rallied from a 16-point third quarter deficit to grab a 57-55 lead, however UC fell short 61-59 at the Delvin Fieldhouse. Caitlyn Wilson recorded 20 points off six three-point shots.
SCOUTING THE BEARCATS
The Bearcats are 10-12 overall and 3-7 in American Athletic Conference play. Last time out, the Bearcats made a late fourth quarter comeback but came up short as it fell to the SMU Mustangs at home Wednesday night, 71-66. Sophomore guard Jillian Hayes led the team with 15 points, eight rebounds, five assists and two blocks. UC shot 81% from the free throw line, with Hayes going a perfect 7-for-7. Niang scored in double digits, recording 10 points and added six rebounds along with two blocks. The Bearcats bench recorded 37 points.
Hayes leads the team in points (261), points per game (11.9), field goals made a game (4.0), free throws made (83), rebounds (158) and blocks (31). Junior forward Caitlyn Wilson leads the team in three point shots (47) and three point shots a game (2.1). while junior point guard Akira Levy leads in assists (112) and is tied in steals with Hayes with 48.
Cincinnati leads the AAC and is 18th in the NCAA in blocked shots with 112, averaging 5.1 a game.
SCOUTING THE GREEN WAVETulane is 15-7 overall and 6-4 in American Athletic Conference play. The Green Wave have won four in a row.
Last time out, redshirt senior Krystal Freeman scored a season-high 28 points in the 76-74 win over Memphis on the road. Arsula Clark filled the stat sheet with 16 points, six rebounds and six assists while Dynah Jones followed it up with 14 points and five boards.
Redshirt senior Moon Ursin leads the team averaging 14.0 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. The Destrehan, Louisiana, native has recorded eight double-doubles and is seventh in the conference in scoring, averaging 13.95 points per games. Dynah Jones joins Ursin in the top-10 in scoring in the league with 12.9 points per contest and is averaging a team-high 14.1 points in league games.
