"It's gonna be a real good opportunity to play a top-10 caliber team," head coach Gina Thomas said. "It's an opportunity to show what we are really made of, focus on our end-goal and give it our best shot. The more we can do that here at home, the better."

WORKING FROM HOME
Cincinnati fell 18-9 in its home opener to Ohio State on Wednesday. Freshman Sophie O'Brien has also registered 15 saves while being pressed into duty against stout competition. The Bearcats were 5-4 at home last year, including a 20-19 win over Marquette in the Sheakley bubble before routs of Kent State and Robert Morris.

MILESTONE WATCHING
Alyssa Adams ranks fifth in school history with 99 goals. Next up on the list is Sam Mlkvy (101 from 2016-21) and Courtney Curtis (104 from 2013-16). Teammate Kylie Nause is seventh with 86.

SEASON STATS
UC has put up just two fewer shots than its opponents this season (73-71). Its best-scoring quarter has been the third, with seven of its 22 goals there. Opponents also have a 38-26 advantage in draw controls. Caused-turnovers sit at 15 for each team, with Sophia Finotti leading with three.

SERIES HISTORY
Michigan claimed the only prior meeting, a 19-9 contest on March 4, 2019 as the 20th-ranked team. Nause scored four goals to lead the squad with Adams adding a pair. UC led 5-4 at the break as well in a game pushed back a day and indoors due to frigid temperatures.

The Bearcats are seeking their first ranked win in program history. Other recent matchups include No. 20 Louisville and three against Florida in 2021.
