FORT WORTH, Texas -- The University of Cincinnati men's basketball team will start its AAC Tournament journey on Thursday when it battles East Carolina at 1 p.m. ET/12 p.m. CT on ESPNU, as announced by the league.

Cincinnati won both meetings against the Pirates this year, beginning with a 79-71 decision at home on Jan. 12. David DeJulius' put-back off his own miss with 3.7 seconds left gave the Bearcats a 60-59 win in Greenville on Jan. 30.

The Bearcats have been to four-straight AAC Championship games, winning two of them. While this will be the tournament's third year in Dickies Arena, it's the first for the Bearcats in a regular environment. They never got to take the floor in 2020 due to COVID, and last year's was played in front of limited fans.

Jeremiah Davenport was named to the AAC All-Tournament Team in 2021, averaging 12.7 points and 6.0 rebounds in the three contests. UC defeated No. 4 SMU, 74-71, and No. 1 Wichita State, 60-59, before falling to eventual Final-Four Houston in the title game.

The latest tournament information can be found at Championship Central throughout the week by visiting www.TheAmerican.org/mbb, and tickets are available for purchase through the Cincinnati ticket office.
