BLUFFTON, S.C. -- The University of Cincinnati men's golf team will look to continue its tour of the Sunshine State and South Carolina coast when it starts the Colleton River Collegiate on Monday.

The 10-team field includes Penn State, South Florida, Michigan State, Georgia Southern, Memphis, Indiana, Miami (Ohio), Eastern Michigan and Minnesota.

Cincinnati will send out its same five from the previous tournament: Clay Amlung, Ty Gingerich, Sam Jean, Mason Lenhart and Joey McCarthy.

UC on Friday won a stroke-play event against No. 28 Michigan State by 11 strokes at Berkeley Hall in town. The Bearcats finished second at a Hilton Head tournament to start the shortened COVID season in 2021 and were also at Colleton River the year prior, but at the Dye course rather than the Nicklaus.

The Bearcats finished strong at its previous event, the Coral Creek Club Invitational, carding a final-round-season-low 284 to jump five spots to seventh on Tuesday. Amlung, the team's top performer with a 215, lowered his stroke average to 72.78, while Sam Jean remains in the lead with a 71.39 mark.
