BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Cincinnati senior Ellie Leather finished third in the mile run at the NCAA Indoor Championship Meet, earning First-Team All-America honors. Leather's time of 4:35.62 breaks her own previous personal best and school record.

Leather ran a smart race, pacing herself throughout the beginning of the mile and hanging in the middle of the pack. Toward the final 400 meters of the race, she was able to kick and push to the front of the pack, finishing the mile in a sprint to take the third-place spot on the podium.

This was Leather's final race of her indoor track and field career as a Bearcat. She will look forward to running the 1500m, 800m and 5000m in the outdoor season.
