TicketsKANSAS CITY, Mo. – The University of Cincinnati tennis team earned their ninth straight victory with a 6-1 win over Kansas City on the road at the Plaza Tennis Center Tuesday afternoon.
The Bearcats improve to 10-3 on the season while the Kansas City Roos move to 2-6 overall.
Redshirt seniors Ioana Guna and Emma Miceli single-handedly won their doubles match 6-0 while freshman Callie Flanagan and redshirt sophomore Kelli Niehaus secured the 6-1 win and also the doubles point for UC.
In singles play, Niehuas remains undefeated on the season after defeating Tuana Tinaztepe on court five, 6-4 and 6-4. Niehaus improves to 10-0.
Miceli improves to 9-3 on the season after a 6-2, 6-2 singles victory while Flanagan improves to 6-2 after her 6-2, 6-1 victory.
Redshirt junior Maria Santilli improves to 8-3 in singles play after her dominate performance on court three, 6-1, 6-1.

"A really good performance from our team today. For our first match outdoors, it couldn't have gone much better. Our focus now shifts to conference play and Wichita State. They are well-coached and they are always tough. It will be a tough test and I look forward to seeing our girls get after it against a real quality opponent."
