TicketsCINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati Director of Athletics John Cunningham announced on Thursday the hiring of John Daniel as the Bearcats' Executive Senior Associate Athletics Director and Chief Financial Officer.
Daniel, who has worked on the business side of college athletics for more than 10 years, comes to Clifton Heights from LSU, where he served as the Associate AD for Administration since 2019.
Among his many duties, Daniel will serve as the sport supervisor for Cincinnati's football program.
He begins his position at UC on April 2.

"John will be a great fit for our department, helping to propel us forward as we prepare to join the Big 12 and continue our Day One Ready Campaign. John is a tremendous addition to our executive leadership team and his experience and expertise will be an asset to our athletic department and our university community."
At LSU, Daniel was the sport supervisor for men's and women's swimming and diving and beach volleyball, while also managing oversight for the athletic department's IT team and special projects.

"There may not be another athletics department in the country with as much momentum and institutional alignment as UC, and I look forward to being a part of the continued successes to come here. I'd like to thank Scott Woodward at LSU for a first-class experience these past two and a half years, and especially my wife, Arleen, for supporting me all along and being a wonderful mom to our twin daughters. Before his stint at LSU, Daniel spent three years as the Associate AD for Business and Finance at TCU, where he helped overhaul the budgeting process for all sports, implementing revenue tracking processes, developing benchmark reports and writing policy and procedure manuals for the department. He also oversaw the annual audit at TCU.
Daniel worked at Texas A&M from 2012 to 2016 as the Director of Financial Reporting. He led athletics procurement and managed department reporting in addition to serving as the budgeting liaison for the 12th Man Foundation on several capital projects.
He also spent time in the business office at Maryland.
Daniel earned his bachelor's degree in business management from LSU in 2010 and his master's degree in sports management in Baton Rouge in 2011. He also obtained his MBA from Ole Miss.
He and his wife, Arleen, have twin daughters, Dorothy and Evelyn.
