CINCINNATI -- The No. 56 University of Cincinnati men's golf team will look to build off its memorable South Carolina tournament with another big challenge: the three-day Schenkel Invitational in Statesboro, Ga.

The Bearcats will play at the par-72, 7,123-yard Forest Heights Country Club alongside Army, Campbell, College of Charleston, No. 42 Florida Gulf Coast, Furman, No. 67 Georgia Southern, Iowa, Kentucky, Middle Tennessee, No. 10 Notre Dame, No. 37 UAB, No. 71 Virginia Tech, No. 58 West Virginia and Wisconsin.

"We are really excited to be back in Statesboro at The Schenkel," head coach Doug Martin said. "We have had an excellent week of preparation at Pine Needles. This team continues to work very diligently at getting better every day. Once again, the field is very good and we will have to play very well if we expect to be a factor come Sunday."

Clay Amlung, Ty Gingerich, Sam Jean, Mason Lenhart and Joey McCarthy will rep the squad on the scorecard, with Cole Harris competing individually as well.

UC had an all-time performance in the Colleton River Collegiate (March 7-8), carding a school-record 270 in the final round (beating the 2013 Cleveland State Invitational by five strokes), led by Amlung's 8-under 64 that matched Chad Howard's 2015 score for school and AAC history. The Bearcats jumped five spots in the final tally to finish second as every member had their best round to close. UC has also posted its lowest round at the end in each of its last three tournaments.

This is UC's second three-day event of the year, having previously finished third in the Badger Invitational in late September. Jean claimed the individual title that week with a 7-under 209, earning AAC Golfer of the Month accolades. Jean still leads the team with a 71.14 stroke average, while Amlung and McCarthy each have a 72.38.

Four different Bearcats have registered sub-70 rounds and under-par overall scores.
