TicketsCINCINNATI – Senior pitcher Beau Keathley was named the AAC Pitcher of the Week Monday for his performance on the mound against Saint Joseph's in the second game of Saturday's double header. This is Keathley's first weekly honor of the season.
The senior from Taylor, Mich. threw six innings against the Hawks in UC's 12-1 win Saturday, allowing zero earned runs, only three hits and striking out 12 batters. He walked none.
The 12 strikeouts are the most Keathley has had in a Bearcats uniform. He was only one shy of his career-high 13 strikeouts, which he recorded on March 24, 2019, against Youngstown State while pitching for the Oakland Golden Grizzlies.
Saturday's performance was Keathley's best this season, but not his only standout one. He threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball in relief against Ohio State on March 3, 2022, striking out eight and earning the win. He is now 2-0 on the year.
