CINCINNATI -- The University of Cincinnati lacrosse team is back on the road this weekend for a two-game swing, first battling Butler on Friday (3 p.m.) and Robert Morris (12 p.m.) on Sunday.

LAST TIME OUT
Ava Goeller's fifth-straight hat trick was not enough for the Bearcats in a 16-12 defeat to Liberty, despite it being tied at 11 heading into the fourth. Elizabeth Murphy and Grace Wehland each scored twice as well. Murphy's 10 assists lead the team after having one as a freshman last spring.
Goeller gained her fifth-consecutive hat tricks over the weekend and seventh of the season with her seven goals. Was also excellent in the midfield with eight draw controls over the weekend and a season-high (as well as team-high) four GBs in the Central Michigan win. She is sixth in the AAC in goals and third in shots. Cincinnati's 20 draw controls against Liberty were a season-high.

The Bearcats lead the league with 14.5 draw controls and second in shots and caused-turnovers with 31.8 and 9.6 per game. Dani Mlkvy leads with 2.3 ground balls per contest, while Tori Accardo caused two turnovers and picked up a pair of ground balls against Liberty, plus a draw control against CMU. Helped hold the Flames to 25 shots, 7.6 below their team average. UC's 12 caused turnovers overall were one off a season-high.

UC has won three of its last four road games, most recently a road sweep at Kent State and Akron in which it scored a season-high 17 goals each game. UC is outscoring its road opponents 66-56, and goalkeeper Sophie O'Brien's GAA is 5.60 better than in home games.

Kylie Nause's six goals against Central Michigan were a career-high amidst an already impressive career that has her third in UC history with 117 goals. The six were also a team season-high. It was also her ninth hat trick to start the season, third in school history and three from matching the school record. Her 3.80 goals per game leads the league, and her 31 overall goals entering the weekend were sixth nationally.
Her 38 for the season are seventh nationally and second in the AAC.
SCOUTING BUTLER
UC faced Butler in fall play but not in the springtime since 2019. The Bulldogs are 4-3 on the year and playing its first home game since March 6, most recently winning at Presbyterian and Kennesaw State before falling to Duquesne in its road trip finale. UC is 3-0 against Butler, all between 2017-19, most recently taking a 19-6 victory.
SCOUTING ROBERT MORRIS
Cincinnati leads the all-time series 3-2, with the 16-7 win last spring serving as the first matchup since 2016. UC scored the first six goals and led 13-3 at the half (Nause had four by 13:43 of the second quarter), and Alyssa Adams scored four times as well.
