CINCINNATI- The University of Cincinnati tennis team is set to face-off against NKU on Wednesday, March 30 at 1 p.m. in their last home match of the season indoors at the Western Athletic Tennis Club. Redshirt seniors Ioana Guna and Emma Miceli will be honored in a senior day ceremony following the match.
This will be the tenth matchup between the Bearcats and the Norse, with Cincinnati leading the overall series 9-0.
Last time out, the Bearcats defeated NKU 5-2 on Feb. 28, 2021. Guna was the first UC victory with a 7-6, 6-1 comeback win at No. 1 singles. Micelli was next with a 6-4, 6-1 win and redshirt sophomore Kelli Niehaus clinched the match for UC with her 6-4, 7-5 win at No. 6 singles. Maria Santilli won a stirring 10-point, third-set tiebreaker after winning the first set 6-0 and dropping the second set 7-6 with an 8-6 tiebreaker.

SCOUTING THE BEARCATS
- Cincinnati broke an 11-match win streak following their 6-1 loss to Xavier on Saturday.
- Cincinnati is now 12-4 overall on the season.
- The 11 straight wins marked the longest win streak in program history.
- Last time out, freshman Callie Flanagan and Niehaus won 7-6 on court three and redshirt seniors Ioana Guna and Emma Miceli won their match on court two, 7-6, to earn the doubles point over Xavier.
- Niehaus received her first loss of the season in singles and is now 11-1 on the season.
- The Northern Kentucky women's tennis team fell to 2-5 overall this season after being defeated by an incredibly talented 9-4 overall Saint Louis program.
- Sylvia Gray is 5-2 in singles action this season and Maria Koo is 5-1,with Koo on a five-match win streak.
- In doubles, Laura Sola Grau and Maria Koo are 4-2 on the season and currently on a two-match win streak.
