CINCINNATI -- The University of Cincinnati men's golf team is headed out for the three-day Mason Rudolph Championship, hosted by Vanderbilt.

The No. 67 Bearcats will play at the par-71, 7,100-yard Vanderbilt Legends Golf Club, starting Friday. The 15-team field includes No. 13 Auburn, No. 17 Tennessee, No. 33 Ohio State, No. 43 Liberty, Virginia, West Virginia, Mississippi State, Memphis, Middle Tennessee, Louisiana Tech, Santa Clara, Ball State, Kennesaw State and Western Kentucky.

Cincinnati was supposed to compete in the Mason Rudolph Championship back in April 2020 before COVID ended the season. Clay Amlung, Ty Gingerich, Sam Jean, Mason Lenhart and Joey McCarthy will represent the squad.

"We're really excited to get back to the Legends Golf Course," head coach Doug Martin said. "I like it a lot, and it sets up very well to our team. As we continue to try to reach out long-term goals, being able to be competitive in this field will go along way for us reaching them. We continue to value the importance of playing high-level tournaments every week, and it only makes our players better."

Cincinnati is coming off a seventh-place finish at the Schenkel Invitational (March 18-20). The Bearcats were led by Amlung, as the Louisville native finished in 18th with an even-par 216, his fifth top-20 finish. Gingerich was one stroke behind in a tie for 23rd.

Jean leads the team with a 71.38 stroke average. He is two tournaments removed from a season-low 209 at the Colleton River Collegiate. Amlung, who has carded a sub-70 round in each of his last three events, is now second at 72.33.
