Bearcats Prepare for Two AAC Matchups on the Road this Weekend

CINCINNATI -- The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team travels to Memphis, Tenn. for their last two regular-season matches when they face-off against conferences foes No. 52 Memphis at 2 p.m. ET on April 8 and Tulane at 11 a.m. ET on April 9. Both matches will be played at the Eldon Roark Tennis Center.

CINCINNATI -- The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team travels to Memphis, Tenn. for their last two regular-season matches when they face-off against conferences foes No. 52 Memphis at 2 p.m. ET on April 8 and Tulane at 11 a.m. ET on April 9. Both matches will be played at the Eldon Roark Tennis Center.
 
SERIES HISTORY
The Bearcats are 9-12 all-time against Memphis. Last time out on March 26, 2021, the Tigers swept the Bearcats 7-0 at the Trabert-Talbert Tennis Center.

Against Tulane, the Bearcats are 0-2 all time. This is the first match-up since March 16, 2015 when the Green Wave took down UC, 6-1. 
 
SCOUTING THE BEARCATS 
  • The Bearcats are 15-4 overall, 1-0 in conference play, and 7-3 on the road for the Spring season.
  • The Bearcats are coming off a 2-0 weekend, where they defeated Middle Tennessee 4-1 and Marshall in a tough battle, 4-3.
  • Freshman Elizabeth Pendergast earned her first AAC women's tennis player of the week honor after going 3-0 in singles play on court one last week.
  • After Niehuas' first loss of the season against Xavier, the redshirt sophomore has bounced back, winning her last three matches and is now 14-1 in singles play.
  • Redshirt senior Emma Miceli is 14-4 on the season and redshirt junior Maria Santilli is 10-6.
  • The Bearcats' 14-straight doubles points came to end when Marshall earned the doubles point. The duo of freshman Callie Flanagan and Niehaus lead the Bearcats with a 12-2 overall record on the season.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
  • Ranked at 52 in the most recent ITA poll, the Tigers are 15-5 on the season and have won eight out of their last nine matches.
  • Last time out, the Tigers beat UAB 4-2 and Samford 4-1 on the road in Birmingham, Alabama.
  • Monique Woog is 14-3 in singles play this season, with teammate Emily Meyer not far behind at 13-3. Alisha Reayer is also having a solid spring season, with an 11-5 record in singles.
  • In doubles, Emily Meyer and Aran Teixido Garcia lead the team with a 10-3 overall record. 
SCOUTING THE GREEN WAVE 
  • Tulane is 10-7 overall on the season and 1-3 in conference play. They are also 1-5 on the road.
  • After three straight wins, the Green Wave fell to No. 40 Florida State University 4-1 on Saturday.
  • Tulane is led in doubles action by the pairing of Lahari Yelamanchili and Charlotte Russell. The duo holds a 13-2 record on the season including 9-2 in their last 10 matches. 
  • In singles play, Tulane is paced by Yelamanchili with an 10-2 record followed by Russell at 9-4 on the year.
