Riddle and McGregor Lead Bearcats in Multis After Day One in Knoxville

Competition at the Tennessee Relays meet started today with the multis and throwing events. The Bearcats have competed well against strong competition in Knoxville with the heptathlon and decathlon set to finish up tomorrow.

Knoxville, Tenn. – Competition at the Tennessee Relays meet started today with the multis and throwing events. The Bearcats have competed well against strong competition in Knoxville with the heptathlon and decathlon set to finish up tomorrow. 
 
PERFORMANCES OF NOTE
Women's Heptathlon:
Juliet McGregor leads the Bearcats in the heptathlon with a score of 3056, putting her in seventh after four events. Her top place was in the 200-meter dash where she ran 24.93 to take fourth. Katie Straus recorded the Bearcats' first top-three finish of the meet in the shot put of the women's heptathlon. Straus is currently in tenth place followed by Sydney Spears in 16th. 
 
Men's Decathlon:
Cannon Riddle leads the Bearcats in the men's multis with his current standing of sixth place in the decathlon. His top place after five events today is seventh in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.10. Damien Berthenet sits in 16th and Dominique Hall sits in 21st after day one of the event.
 
NEXT UP
A majority of the team will compete tomorrow at Tennessee Relays. The meet will resume at 11:00 a.m. with the completion of the men's decathlon and women's heptathlon. Field events will start at 3 p.m. with the women's long jump and running events will start at 3:35 p.m. with the men's 110-meter hurdles.
