TicketsLouisville, Ky. – Seniors Ellie Leather and Jane Sensibaugh lead the Bearcats on Friday night with their wins in the 800-meter run and discus throw. They are two of four Bearcats to finish on the podium on night one in Louisville.
PERFORMANCES OF NOTE
Women's 800-meter Run:
Leather led the entire 800-meter race to cross the finish line in first at the end of the two laps with a time of 2:06.27. This set a meet record for the Clark Wood Invitational. Senior Rylee Penn finished in sixth place with a collegiate outdoor personal best of 2:11.99.
Women's Discus Throw:
Sensibaugh, the current school record holder in the discus throw, won the event in Louisville with a throw of 53.37m (175' 1"). Sophomore Kirsten Clay also competed in the final round of the discus throw and finished in ninth with a throw of 41.33m (137' 5").
Women's Hammer Throw:
Hannah Jackson led the Bearcats in the hammer throw with her second-place finish, throwing 55.31m (181' 05"). Jane Sensibaugh followed in sixth with a personal best of 52.35m (171' 09").
Women's Long Jump:
Junior Nadia Collins finished in third place in the long jump with a jump of 6.04m (19-09.75). Her best jump of the day was just three inches shy of her seasonal best this year.
