CINCINNATI -- Senior Kylie Nause scored three goals to claim sole possession of the school record with 63 goals, but the Cincinnati lacrosse team fell 23-7 to Vanderbilt on Saturday in its regular-season finale.
Nause, whose 15 hat tricks extended her own record, matched it at 10:52 in the second quarter, then claimed it for herself at 9:02 via a free-position shot.
Vanderbilt made a statement early with two goals in the first 49 seconds, but Elizabeth Murphy scored the next two at 10:59 and 10:28, the latter assisted by Kylie Gioia. It matched her career-high with her fifth multi-goal game, all this season, with the Bearcats 3-1 in those prior instances.
Ava Goeller also scored twice for her 44th goals of the year.
Draw controls were even for the teams, but Vanderbilt had a 41-24 shots advantage, with an impressive 37 on goal.
