LAST TIME OUT
While the Florida game had to wait a day due to travel issues, Cincinnati had much to be proud of in its 19-12 decision to the No. 10 Gators. It was the team's highest-scoring output in the all-time series, including a 15-7 shots advantage in the fourth quarter. UC's 38 shots were the most Florida has allowed this season. Freshman goalie Sophie O'Brien also notched seven saves on the heels of a career-high nine at Robert Morris.
TOO MUCH NAUSE
Kylie Nause's four goals against No. 10 Florida moved her into sole possession of second-place in school history with 49, trailing only Monica Borzillo's 61 in 2019. It also ranks fifth nationally. Her 11 hat tricks are also one away from matching the season record, also by Borzillo in 2019.
TEAM EFFORT
Midfielder Ava Goeller has played to her expectations following her Big South Freshman of the Year honors last spring. She is second on the team in goals (35), assists (12), points (47), ground balls (23), draw controls (52) and caused turnovers (14). Goeller also leads the league in shots taken (99). Dani Mlkvy leads the Bearcats with 52 draw controls and 33 ground balls following a breakout sophomore campaign.
THE TEMPLE SERIES
UC fell to the Owls in both meetings last year, 16-14 and 10-8, in Nippert Stadium. Alyssa Adams scored a career-high five goals in the first matchup, while Julie Rose and Peyton Mottice added one. The other 14 goals for the Bearcats came by now-departed members. It was a tale of two first halves, as Cincinnati led 8-5 in the first contest but trailed 8-1 in the next game's intermission.
Temple leads the all-time series 7-2, with both losses coming in 2019. The latter of those was in the AAC Semifinals at Sheakley Field, keyed by four Adams goals and another Nause hat trick in her AAC Freshman of the Year campaign.
ROAD WARRIORS
UC has won five of its last six road games, most recently sweeping a bitter cold weekend at Butler (16-12) and Robert Morris (12-8). Those victories already constitute a school record and most since 2018. UC in early March produced its best offensive games in a weekend sweep at Kent State (17-11) and Akron (17-5), with the latter a season-low goals allowed.
HOMECOMINGS
Eleven Bearcats have roots in southeastern Pennsylvania and in the neighboring New Jersey area. Mlkvy and Tori Accardo grew up together, attending Eastern Regional HS, 18 miles away. Freshman Kylie Gioia, who has scored in four-straight games that included her first hat trick against Robert Morris, hails from Broomall, Pa., just 15 miles away.
