CINCINNATI – Cincinnati football head coach Luke Fickell announced on Thursday the addition of transfer defensive lineman Noah Potter.
A 6-6, 275-pound Mentor, Ohio, native, he played in seven games from 2019 to 2020 at Ohio State, making three tackles.
Potter did not play in 2021 due to injury, but appeared in the Buckeyes' 2022 spring game last month where he had a pair of sacks and six tackles.
"We are excited to add Noah to our Cincinnati football family," Fickell said. "Noah had some tough luck with injuries that were out of his control these past few seasons. He's bounced back, however, and we expect him to be an immediate contributor and a leader in our defensive line room. Noah is a tough and explosive player who will fit perfectly into our 'hungry and humble' culture."
Potter was a consensus four-star prospect, a Top 350 recruit nationally and the No. 6 player in Ohio by 247Sports following a standout career at Mentor where he earned All-Ohio honors as a junior and a senior. He finished his high school career with more than 150 tackles, 20 TFLs and 16 sacks despite getting constant double teams from the opposition.
He collected offers from Alabama, Georgia, Penn State and several other schools coming out of high school.
