CINCINNATI –The Cincinnati track and field teams will send 16 athletes to the preliminary rounds of the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The preliminary meet will take place in Bloomington, Ind. from May 25 to 28.
QUALIFYING ATHLETES
The top 48 athletes in each individual event and the top 24 relays in the NCAA East qualify to compete in the preliminary rounds of competition. From there, the top 12 in each event move on to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore. UC athletes qualifying for the first round of competition are listed below, along with their qualifying spot and event.
Men's Team Qualifiers:
Steven McElroy – 9th in the 400-meter dash
Austin Goolsby – 27th in the pole vault
Austin Edwards – 32nd in the long jump
Tyler Wirth – 44th in the 1500-meter run
Sam Meece – 46th in the weight throw
Women's Team Qualifiers:
Leonie Troeger – 9th in the javelin throw
Caisja Chandler – 10th in the 200-meter dash and 22nd in the 100-meter dash
Ellie Leather – 10th in the 1500-meter run
Kennedy Marable – 12th in the triple jump
Jane Sensibaugh – 15th in the discus throw
Annika Kinley – 37th in the high jump
Anaya Dees – 37th in the triple jump
Nadia Collins – 44th in the long jump
4x100m Relay – Chandler, Alicia Thorpe, Victoria Abunaw, Juliet McGregor – 19th
