CINCINNATI – The Cincinnati track and field teams will send their 16 qualifiers to the East Preliminary round of the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Championships this week. The meet will take place at the Robert Haugh Track and Field at Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind.
MEET SCHEDULE
The meet is composed of two days of preliminary competition and two days of finals in the track events, with field event finals taking place every day. For each individual and relay event, the top 12 athletes will move on to compete at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore. From June 8-11.
Cincinnati athletes start to compete on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with Sam Meece in the men's hammer throw and until the conclusion of the 400-meter dash at 7:25 p.m.
UC athletes first compete on Thursday at 2 p.m. with Leonie Troeger in the women's javelin. Thursday will conclude at 8:45 p.m. following Caisja Chandler in the 200-meter dash.
Friday starts finals in the track events. Stay tuned to our social media channels and our daily recaps to find out if Steven McElroy and Tyler Wirth will be running on Friday. On Saturday, UC athletes will compete starting at 1 p.m. with Jane Sensibaugh in the women's discus. Once again stay tuned to see if Caisja Chandler and Ellie Leather will be running in the finals on Saturday.

WHERE WE LEFT OFF
The UC track and field teams last competed at the AAC Outdoor Championships, where individuals brought home conference championships in eight different events. These include Caisja Chandler in the 100-meter and 200-meter dash, Austin Edwards in the long jump, Ellie Leather in the 800-meter and 1,500-meter dash, Kennedy Marable in the triple jump, Steven McElroy in the 400-meter dash and Jane Sensibaugh in the discus throw. Each of these conference champions will be competing this week at the NCAA East Preliminary meet.
