Volleyball Earns USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati volleyball team has earned the United States Marine Corps and the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award, the organization announced on Monday.

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati volleyball team has earned the United States Marine Corps and the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award, the organization announced on Monday.  
 
The Bearcats received the honor for the eighth consecutive year after compiling a 3.487 GPA during the 2021-22 academic year. 
 
The award, initiated in the 1992–93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that display excellence in the classroom by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team GPA. The Bearcats are one of 1,213 programs that were honored this year nationally, including 215 NCAA Division I women's teams.
 
Cincinnati opens the 2022 season with its home tournament on Aug. 26-28. The Bearcats will host Illinois State (Aug. 26), Dayton (Aug. 26) and Florida State (Aug. 28) at Fifth Third Arena.
