CINCINNATI -- Five University of Cincinnati women's golfers have been named All-American Scholars by the WGCA (Women's Golf Coaches Association). It also tied with Wichita State for the most in the American Athletic Conference.

Erin Evans, Katie Hallinan, Makenna Jones, Paighton Masterson and Sadie Pan were all recognized. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.

Cincinnati also had seven last year, tying for the national lead and setting a program record, as well as six on each of the 2019 and 2020 squads.

"I am always proud of the effort this team gives both on and off the golf course," head coach Janet Carl said. "These ladies work hard to represent our athletic department to the highest standards. I'm very proud of them!"

Hallinan led the team with a 76.12 stroke average last year, her first full season after transferring home from Illinois. Evans also served as UC's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) President.
