CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati's men's and women's swimming and diving teams released their schedule for the 2022-23 season, announced by head coach Mandy Commons-DiSalle.
"I am very optimistic and excited for the upcoming season," said Commons-DiSalle. "We have a challenging schedule which will help prepare us to compete well this season, as well as making the transition into the Big 12."
The Bearcats have 15 meets on the schedule, including five home events at Keating Aquatics Center.
"We are looking forward to having another record-breaking season, Commons-DiSalle added. "We have a very talented men's and women's team that is well positioned to do so."
The schedule kicks off with Alumni Weekend, Sept. 23-25, which will feature the annual Red v. Black intrasquad meet on Sept. 23 starting at 1 p.m. Cincinniati swim legend, Jaqueline Keire, will be inducted into Cincinnati's Athletic Hall of Fame.
The Bearcats' regular season will start on the road with a dual meet against the University of Indianapolis on Oct. 1. The team's first home meet will be the following week as UC will host Miami (Ohio) on Oct. 8.
UC will aslo be making a trip to Morgantown, West Virginia for a two day meet against West Virginia, Oct. 21-22,
"It has been quite some time since we had them on our schedule, and as future Big 12 competitors, it will be nice to have a preview into the following season." Commons-DiSalle said.
After the winter break, the teams have three straight weekends of home duals, starting on January 13, against Kenyon, Xavier and Kentucky.
Postseason meets will begin with the AAC Championship, Feb. 13-18, as the Bearcats will look to continue their success at the meet one last time.
Both the CSCAA National Invitational Championship in Elkhart, Indiana, and the NCAA Diving Zones Championships are slated for March 9-12.
To cap off the season, the women's NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships will be held, March 15-18, in Knoxville, Tennessee, while the Men's NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships will be held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, March 22-25.
