CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati junior Anna Rexford has been named American Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Week, announced Monday.
This is the second time in her career that Rexford has garnered the honor.
Rexford tallied seven saves last week in matches against Bowling Green and Murray State. She recorded her 100th career save on her first of three against the Racers on Sunday, punching away a free kick attempt in the 48th minute. The latest performance was her third clean sheet of the season, totaling nine saves to only one goal allowed while playing every minute through the first four matches. The one goal allowed in the first four contests is the lowest under head coach Neil Stafford.
Rexford leads the AAC with three shutouts and a .900 save percentage.
Cincinnati will be back in action on Thursday, Sept. 1 when they host Stony Brook at 11:30 a.m. ET.
