TicketsCINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati volleyball head coach Molly Alvey announced the addition of Shaye Eggleston to the 2022 volleyball roster.
The Bristol, Tenn. Native transfers to UC after spending the 2021 spring and fall seasons at the University of Alabama.
Eggleston is a two-time Tennessee Gatorade Player of the Year (2019-20, 2020-21) and is a four-time Tennessee AAA State Champ (2017, 2018, 2019, 2020). Her senior season she was AVCA Under Armour Third Team All American, State Tournament MVP, District MVP and also set the Brentwood High School career kills record with 2,183 kills. Her junior year she was District and Region MVP, PrepVolleyball TN Player of the Year, and set the Brentwood High School single season kill record with 852 kills.
Her sister Logan Eggleston is a senior outside hitter at the University of Texas and her father Stan Eggleston played men's basketball at Emory and Henry University.
2021 SEASON RECAP
UC Finished the 2021 regular season 19-9, with key wins over top-50 Notre Dame and top-100 teams Texas State and Bowling Green. The Bearcats went14-6 in the AAC, finishing tied for third place with SMU. Middle blocker Abby Walker earned AAC Freshman of the Year and All-AAC Second team honors while senior outside hitter Maria Mallon secured her fourth AAC award earning All-AAC First Team.
